Sakarya University (SAU) is a well-established public university located in the Eastern Marmara region of Türkiye. Committed to educating individuals equipped with the competencies required by contemporary civilization, SAU stands out with its modern green campus, internationally oriented education system, effective use of technology, diverse academic offerings, and emphasis on applied learning. Originally founded in 1970 as Sakarya Academy of Engineering and Architecture, the institution became a faculty of Istanbul Technical University in 1982 and gained full university status in 1992. In addition to its main campus, SAU operates four other campuses: Hendek (Faculty of Education), Adapazarı (Faculty of Dentistry), Korucuk (Faculty of Medicine), and the Dentistry Campus.
SAU comprises 13 faculties, 6 graduate schools, 2 vocational schools, 1 state conservatory, and 36 research and application centers. It offers a total of 598 academic programs: 30 associate, 235 undergraduate, 231 master’s, and 102 doctoral programs. While associate and undergraduate programs are primarily offered through face-to-face education, graduate programs include both general and specialized tracks with options for on-campus and distance learning.
