Consumption of treated water

Sakarya University utilizes treated water supplied by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality to meet essential campus needs requiring high water quality. This includes providing safe drinking water for students, staff, and visitors, as well as supporting various campus operations. The university ensures continuous access to potable water through strategically placed drinking fountains and water dispensers across the campus. Comprehensive analyses conducted by the Sakarya Water and Sewerage Administration (SASKİ), with contributions from university faculty, confirm the safety and quality of this tap water, and the findings are regularly published and shared with the public.

In alignment with its sustainability goals, Sakarya University minimizes the use of treated municipal water for non-potable purposes. For instance, irrigation of green spaces is carried out using rainwater and spring water collected and stored in nine separate tanks within the campus. This approach not only conserves treated water but also supports sustainable water management practices.

Through these measures, Sakarya University demonstrates its commitment to responsible water consumption and environmental stewardship, ensuring that treated water is used efficiently and sustainably across its facilities.
