At Sakarya University’s main campus, the total vegetated area covers 979,192 m², accounting for 42.01% of the total campus area of 2,330,665 m². Environmentally friendly and sustainable landscaping practices are implemented throughout the campus. In addition to expansive green areas, horizontal and vertical gardens have been integrated into parking structure walls and various other surfaces, enhancing the campus’s visual appeal while contributing to the reduction of the urban heat island effect and supporting biodiversity.
